Erlo Stegen by Peter Hammond

Erlo Stegen: An Example of Excellence in Missions, Ministry and Revival On Tuesday,26 September, I arrived at KwaZulu-Natal just as the news broke, that Uncle Erlo, The Founder and Director of KwaSizabantu Mission had passed into eternity. As I arrived at the Stegen home, I was asked to speak to the family and co-workers gathered on the lawn. I reminded our good friends that Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. That he took our griefs upon the Cross. Our Lord Jesus Christ wept at the tomb of his friend Lazarus. He reminded Martha that her brother would rise from the dead. Martha acknowledged that he would rise on the last day. Jesus declared: I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me shall live, even though he dies. Rev Erlo Stegen has run the race and kept the Faith .There is a crown laid up for him in glory. We must praise God for a life well lived and for the life and legacy of this extraordinary Bondservant of Christ. We have lost a great leader, friend and e...

Lovers Lane - Roaring 40's run

Image
Inaugural "run" - Roaring 40's - 6 Sept 7pm Run or walk for 40 minutes - see how far you get! The idea of this walk or run is to walk or run for 19 minutes and then to get back to the start in the next 21 minutes. It would allow for a slower second half than the first half. It does not matter how fast you go or how slow you go. Your plan is to beat your previous best at the next run.  The first R-40's run will be in the area of Lover's lane, Bellville. It will start with a downhill, then a bit of up again and depending on your speed another downhill before you turn around. You will probably be able to do anything from 3km (13 min per km) to twelve km (just over 3 min per km) in the period. This is a run or walk with friends with some friendly volunteers to assist along the way. You may see Table Mountain and the City depending on your speed. In the winter months this is a night run with no prospect of seeing the sunset. From October to March you will see the sunse...
